I was born on September the 3rd 1996 in Madrid (Spain), and as you can see I have always had my hands on the camera!

I remember the first time I watched a movie with my older brother and it totally blew my mind. From that moment on, all I wanted to do was to watch movies. I made my mother play the same VHS over and over again or our family home tapes. I could never get enough of that.

The times when I wasn’t watching a film, I would run to grab our family’s photo albums and I went through them like I hadn’t seen them a thousand times. I was fascinated by the pictures taken before I was born and I imagined how it would have been to live those framed memories.

When I was a teenager my parents got me my first camera and I was over the moon. Every time I left the house, I took it with me: to the park, with my family, sightseeing, in the car, everywhere. I also liked recording short films with my friends and the help of my brother and to this day, l still rewatch those clips and I find it so funny!

Thanks to me, all my friends have graphic evidence of their embarrassing teenage years haha, if you are one of them, sorry my friend!

Despite all the evidence, I never thought I could make a living out of photography, so I started studying a bachelor’s degree in archaeology. One day a friend of mine told me that I could become a professional photographer. I did’t give it much thought at the time but her words got stuck in my head and I finally decided to turn my life around and start a career in photography. Funny that I started wanting to be Indiana Jones and I ended up wanting to be Steven Spielberg!

After that decision, I started dedicating myself in full to photography and cinema. I took a two-year master’s degree in photography. I am currently studying a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication and I have been working as a photographer and videographer for more than 5 years now.

So you might be wondering what on Earth is a «madrileña» (a girl from Madrid) doing in Wellington, literally, the other end of the world. Well I just decided to come on an adventure with my partner who got a job offer here and see what this wonderful city has prepared for me!

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope it showed a little bit of who I am. Don’t hesitate to contact me because I am eager to hear about what ever projects I may be able to help you with or even if you want to just have a casual chat!

Love,

Noe
